1. “Are your services covered by insurance, Medicare or Medicaid?”

Our services generally are not covered by major insurance plans, Medicare or Medicaid. Unfortunately these plans are focused on the treatment of disease rather than the prevention of disease. Nonetheless we do not participate in any commercial, government insurance, Medicare or Medicaid.

2. “What are the costs of your services?”

The total costs vary, depending on the level of service. Our most comprehensive services; our anti-aging program is the most expensive, while our weight loss and hormone management programs cost less. The initial physician costs for hormone evaluation are $175.  This is applied to the ongoing costs for those who enroll in a replacement program.  The ongoing costs are $175/month.  This includes your medicine, followup lab work and unlimited correspondence with your treating physician.

3. “What about the cost of medicines and laboratory tests? Are they included?”

There are certain prescription medicines that may be covered by your insurance carrier. Other times they may not. This would be determined by the results of your blood work. The same goes for your initial and follow-up blood work. If we feel that your insurance company is likely to approve the prescriptions and follow-up blood work, we would recommend you have the prescriptions and blood work processed through your insurance company. This will keep your overall costs lower than the price mentioned above. If they are not likely to be approved, then we generally recommend placing you on a maintenance program that has the costs of these medicines included. We can typically provide these with more convenience and more economically than an outside pharmacy. After initial evaluation, we can advise you what items may be covered by any insurance plan.

4. “Will you function as my primary care physician?”

We do not replace your primary care physician. You still may have disease processes that require intermittent or ongoing treatment. That is not our specialty. We specialize in anti-aging medicine, weight loss and hormonal optimization. While most of our patients can eliminate or reduce their need for treatment of other diseases, our role is not to manage those primarily.

5. “Are your services tax deductible like other medical services?”

Absolutely! You may want to consider signing up for your company’s flexible spending account to maximize your tax savings.
